Just a few notes on the marina

Dredging

Dredging is now complete and the final payments will be made to Humber Work boats once we have a detailed survey of the channel which will be carried out by PD Ports. The results will be made available to berth holders.

Trolleys

More trolleys will be made available. However I cannot understand where they go to. If anyone accidentally loses one in the water, please, please report it immediately and we will take steps to recover it. Also please return them to the pick up points. I suspect trolleys are left on the fingers and once the last user puts to sea the trolley falls into the water.

Crane

At the time of writing we are negotiating the purchase of a replacement mobile crane. It should be on site at the time of print.

Tall ships 2005

Working with Tees Valley, Hartlepool Council and Middlesbrough Council we are hoping to encourage some of the Tall ships to make a stop over at Hartlepool Marina and Middle Haven during July 2005. Watch this space for more information.

Security

We have been successful in detecting and preventing crime as a result of our new CCTV coverage and working in conjunction with the local crime prevention office. The partnership has produced some good statistics for Cleveland police. We will soon be in contact with berth holders to help launch Marina Watch similar to neighbourhood watch but designed for marinas. My philosophy is one of constantly improving systems to ensure we remain crime free.

Lock Gates

We plan to renew the top pivots on the lock gates at the end of the summer; this may mean closing the lock for 1 or 2 days, but there will be plenty of prior notice.

And finally

Thank you to berth holders and regular visitors to the marina for your custom and courtesy as well as demonstrating some excellent seamanship in locking and berthing. Enjoy the summer.
