The Maritime Festival - What a weekend!
Hartlepool Marina was proud to be part of the Maritime Festival. As in previous festivals we were asked by Hartlepool Borough Council to assist in the organisation of the water based activities and infrastructure. However this year the water side was to take on a major role. Firstly I would like to use Marina Mates to thank wholeheartedly those who helped make the festival the success it was.

In spite of the frequent showers and the odd squall [35 knots in Tees Bay on one occasion] the Endeavour and Shtandart were met by close to 75 vessels between Redcar and Hartlepool. Both the Captain of Endeavour and Captain of Shtandart were moved by the reception and equally impressed by the plethora of visitors on board their respective vessels once in port. As a consequence a positive image has been portrayed; this will help Tees Valley and Hartlepool Council to secure a stop over for the tall ships in 2005.
