When the Rain before the Wind, Topsail Halyards you must Mind.

When the Wind before the Rain - Hoist your Topsails Up again.

When the Wind Shifts against the Sun ,Trust it not for Back it will Run.

When the Rain is from the East, it lasts a Day or Two at Least.

Mackerel Sky and Mares Tales, make tall Ships carry Low Sails.

Red Sky at Night, Sailors delight. Red Sky in the Morning Sailors Warning.

Rain before Seven, Clear by Eleven.
