Having recently retired from the Fire Brigade after 28 happy years, I plan to circumnavigate the U.K, hopefully starting in early May, weather permitting. Therefore, this will be the last Marina Mates until I return. I’m setting off heading South and hopefully will meet up with a guy that I met whilst cruising last year, his name is Roger and he sails a Sadler 25 called Jalina. I’m just hoping that I don’t spend three months in Whitby! I will be keeping a log and will hopefully put it in Marina Mates when I return. The boat’s been checked over and anti fouled, engine serviced, all filters changed, paint work done etc etc. All I want now is some half-decent weather. I’ll be doing it for charity, (The R.N.L.I. and the Fire Brigade’s Benevolent Fund).
