NEWS FROM HARTLEPOOL MARINA

The old floating bandstand on the North pontoons is soon to be converted into a berth holder’s gang hut/recreation room.  Building materials will be delivered early February with the work commencing forthwith.  We hope to have it ready for use before 1st April.  The best name for this structure we have heard to date is the “Quarter Deck”.  Suggestions are welcome, but remember its name may be broadcast over channel 37 so keep it clean.

The Ports Soundsman will shortly be charting our channel and with this data we will be able to enter into a dredging contract.

The Mandale flats at the rear of the boatyard have now all been sold; therefore the floating show flat is for sale via Mandale.  It is likely to evolve into a small restaurant or other retail outlet.

Dave of Nauticalia is progressing well with his conversion of the tug Ella.  Once completed it will take up station at the base of the main carpark, and he will vacate the shop at Navigation Point and commence trading from the tug.

Use of jet skis have been banned in the water-sports area with the exception of display events or personal watercraft training.

A series of seminars have been planned, with the first starting at 19.00hrs on the 7th March at the yacht club they will include presentations from---

Hartlepool Marina now has a new website. It is only temporary and will be replaced soon, but it has lots of interesting information as well as links to shops, clubs and restaurants around the marina.
